Hi,

Does anyone have an electronic version of a Graziano SAG 12 Manual. I also need a schematic for this machine. It is a two speed version.

Thanks,
Vonschmitzer

I can send you a schematic for the two speed version if you send me your email address I can attach it ,but the manual itself for some reason is too large a file to send (120 meg)?

Charles .... Does the PDF manual include the
electrical schematics ? Thats all I really need,
but the manual would probably come in handy
too ...

Metal Mage,

My manual is a scan of the complete unblemished original manual and includes the "Diagram of Electrical Equipment Siemens Type" which is the complete electrical description and wiring diagram.

Charles.

Done ... Thanks ! Looks like this lathe uses an electronically
controlled gearcase ? Anyone know what kind of oil is supposed
to be used in the gearcases ?

Metal Madge,

Thanks for that. My son who sets up the links etc. for me is in Toronto today. He may be back early enough to send the pdf. out today, but if not it will be with you tomorrow. ( The oil specifications are in the manual. )

Charles.

Here is an older thread which includes a single speed motor SAG 12 schematic:

Usually these things turn up when you do a search on this forum, in this case "Graziano schematic" or "Graziano manual" etc.

Actually, it would be good to see the two-speed schematic posted here too, anyone want to post it (or send me the image, I can post it). [email protected]

Jim and Tom,

Thanks for sending me the two-speed schematics. I don't think I can post a PDF, so will print and scan, then post - but it will take a few days as I have no printer or scanner at present :(

Tom has kindly sent me some images I can post via Photobucket.

Here is the SAG 12 schematic with two-speed motor (but I don't think it shows the brake, correct me if I am wrong).

And a couple of other schematics I think Tom made. I am not exactly sure how or if they differ from the Graziano drawing above.

I finally located the original copies used to make the drawings linked above. Both drawings came from badly stained and poor copies of blueprints inserted in the original manual for a Sag 12 with two-speed motor and brake. These are Graziano sheets 7149 and 7150, both dating from 1973. Both sheets refer to a two-speed motor and joystick with brake. The titles are corrected below.

The links in Troll's post don't work, but they refer to the same two drawings in my last post above. The problem was I described them incorrectly, but Trolls post corrects that error.

Here are the links again:

Hi Jim
Is the discussion on this lathe about a SAG 12 CNC Graziano or the SAG12 manual machine?

I have a CNC SAG12 w a GE MARK1050 Control (no CRT) made circa 1980
but in great shape wear-wise.

I finally repaired the mechanical, hydraulic and Electronic problems
But I don't know how to program it.

Does anyone have any info on this??

Thanks
AL

There is a fellow in Anaconda, MT who has a Sag 12 that's been converted to a sort of CNC. At one point, Summit Eng was in Bozeman, MT or had a local connection. The Sag 12 in question apparently had both transmission and motor problems. Both were jerked, the motor was replaced by a large outboard unit, and an early Summit numerical control installed. I've seen this lathe, but I really don't understand the extent to which it is CNC'd. It's a strange looking contraption. I'm guessing that any Sag 12's of the vintage mentioned have been modified by a non-Graziano associated shop.
