Very cool. - kinda reminds me of the Antikithera gears.
The OEM metric threading dial for the Super 11 (similar lathe to V13) has 3 gear spurs which is what I think he was referring to. On the Super-11 web group there are some dimension drawings someone did.

+1 to BugRobotics. I just started watching An Engineer's Findings channel yesterday. He has great design concepts based on engineering principles and, best of all, he explains his process very well. Well worth the time to watch. His video on the TIG electrode is interesting, too.
