Schaublin 13 Restoration

Hi,

I am doing restoration to an old Schaublin 13(1954) older version.

During the process of disassembling the components of the apron's gear, bearing etc, I find it very difficult to take out the two X shafts (I must take it out because the worm gear which lies on one of the shaft, blocks the way to take out two bearing that need replacement.

The X shafts lie horizontally one after another. One is shorter than the other.

The short one has two splines on it, one on the top the other is internal. I tried to tap on the internal spline that the short shaft will knock on the longer shaft outside. It partly succeed but not all the way out. It seems that the shorter shaft can not move any more further.

If I take the longer shaft out the gear on the left side will drop down and I will be able to disassemble the shorter shaft.

I already review the Ca Lem youtube video of restoration SB13.

I am attaching few pic's that you will understand what's is about.

Did anyone ever dealt with it and know how to take it out?
