Where in Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands > Museums, used machinery dealers

My son is traveling in Europe and will be in Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. What are some recommendations for used machinery dealers, Schaublin, Deckel, etc?

What about museums with machinery, steam engines, etc?

Thanks...

Salt mine, Obersalzburg, Austria. All-copper steam-powered brine pumping engine that ran 100 uninterrupted years. Looks like fine jewelry.

The Zeppelin museum, Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance/Bodensee.

Switzerland is over-run with neat and interesting museums:

BOTH the Science & Technology Museum and adjacent art museum, Wein, Austria. A full day, each. Ditto Schoenbrunn Palace & the Belvedere. Give the Spanish riding school a miss. We know what horses are and how to ride them. Also that they have a pernicious shit habit.

Compare with Germany's drab lower-budget Charlottenburg digs:

.. or the stunning (inside), and reconstructed from REJECTED second / third-choice drawings Polish Palace, Warsaw:

Any or all of "Mad" (opium addicted, rather) King Ludwig's fairy-tale (that, too - he was gay..) castles, Bavaria.

Take the funicular rail from near Interlaken to the Jungfrauhoch, cable cars up the Zugspitz or Mt. Pilatus,

"Used machinery?"

Pilgrim, it will be right under your feet and ass the whole time.

Europeans don't throw old stuff away, they build it to last, keep it in good running order and just USE it.

:)

Visit Peter Veltman in the Netherlands. <http://veltmanmachines.nl/en/> He is a long-time and respected contributor to the Euro-machines forums.

How he is heading to Berlin. Besides the museum and the observatory, what else to see? Any machinery dealers with used Schaublin, Aciera, etc? My searches are not coming up with much.
