    1/8" endmill
    1-1/2" deep slot (so a 12x L/D ratio :scratchchin: )
    some sort of tool steel

No wonder you are breaking endmills.

Does the slot go all the...

Repeat jobs, multi-day production runs, etc. That was pre-Boeing troubles and pre-COVID though. In 2020 it was probably more like 600 hrs, lots of Xometry1-off's.

I'm giving them a try. The website tells me 1-2 weeks :o. There is a textbox labeled "Need it sooner?" so I typed in, "Yes please.". I don't know what effect that has.

  8. Where to order Class X pin gages and get them quickly?

    Hello,

I used to be able to order Class X pin gages from MSC and get them next day if in stock, or at least direct-shipped from Vermont. Apparently they made some "improvements" to their website...

Not meaning to be a PI, but are you sure you have the shoes for this job? :scratchchin: :soapbox:

Anyhoo, use a "Long Reach Stub Flute" endmill, 1/8" or 5/32".

Use a smaller endmill. 3/16" is only .009" smaller than the slot size so it's going to "mash" into each end of the slot and make a mess. I'd use a stubby 1/8" instead, so the cutter has some room to...

Yes, but even small ones are pretty expensive, and your recycler might not accept the compressed pucks since they can't tell what's inside of them.
