I've read that a low carrier frequency is easier on the drive (slower switching) but harder on the motor (more winding vibration), and the opposite is true, that a higher carrier frequency is easier...

What exactly do you have? I'm interested in one.

I added a TCI dV/dT output filter to my Lagun knee mill with no audible improvement.

It seems when most channels reach a certain level of popularity, they realize they have a big enough following that they can monetize their channel. That's usually when I stop watching them.

I just saw this. Thanks Dave. I just bought a control transformer as you described. As you say, I'm sure it will come in handy for testing other things as well.

    Thanks again.

I have a decent variable DC power supply that goes up to 30V or so that I use for a slot car track. Then I could do 120V AC and later 240V as ya'll suggest. I can to that tomorrow...

Thanks. I don't have a small motor and was just hoping to see the display light up. At least that would give me some hope that it's working.

  15. Testing a 380-480V 3 Phase VFD with 240V Single Phase

I ended up with a 380-480V 3 phase VFD. I have no use for it but it was cheap so I bought it. Figured I can eventually trade it for something I need.

It was suppose to be new but it's used. For...

I have a Jet 13X40. It's belt drive. I put a smaller motor pulley on it and run the motor to 120Hz. Now I only have to change pulleys once and that's for speeds over 800 RPM. So I doubt I'll be...

VFD Remote For Basic Controls Questions

More annoying VFD questions from me.

If anyone remembers, I had a WEG VFD on my lathe that wouldn't allow S/V torque if the carrier frequency was set to 15KHz. I came across a good deal on another...
