Just had a closer look at the 9000 lines encoder of my FP2NC 2038 table and I think I just realized why it has 2 reading heads.

One is for quadrature encoder and and the other is for reference...

Isn't there like a M-code or manual button for head lubrication on Dialog4 machines for testing that? Like press lube button and hear if some relay clicks in control box.

    Hi Gloryrates500

Could you perhaps mail me the EPROM/GAL files that you've read from your machine? Would be a lot easier than to tear my D11 to pieces to dump every EPROM/GAL. I want a backup,...

EPROM versions should be written down on a paper glued to aluminium sheet on the right side of D11 box. I just looked, mine unfortunately is quite old, 4.25 for CNC and 4B15 for SPS.

Doesn't seem to be the original HH power supply, at least mine (that I already repaired) looks different. All that matters are the voltages, that go to the connector on the main board, which are...

I have a working Dialog4 with a not so much working machine down in Switzerland. I could swap-test and perhaps repair your cards, if you bring them to me (like if you go south for holydays).

Simply, don't buy a CNC if you don't have any experience with electronics, don't want to learn and can't afford to pay someone to fix the machine for you.

    I fiddled with (mostly analog)...

Deckel/Maho sliding way machines are also IMO the wrong machines for CAM-CNC and heavy contouring. Too many small moves that displaces oil from the ways and makes them wear out fast or gall up.

Maho started with ballscrews on their larger P models. Single servo 400P have ACME screws while my 3 servo 700P from about 1980-1981 already has ballscrews on all axis.

Slitting saw probably works just as well. Only problem I see with that are the sharp corners that it leaves, which may act as stress/crack starting points.
