    On my F5, which came with an acu-rite 1 dro it was mounted very simply. Just strips of ground tool steel bolted to the raw painted castings for the scales to mount to and nice purpose built brackets....

    That's pretty terrible, but in the end it doesn't matter so long as you touch off on the highest tooth. If the runout is that bad I wouldn't trust the profile grind to be anywhere near right though.
