    You called it a spacer. I believe Monarch calls it a deflector. I call it a flinger. That spacer is for flinging the oil that works its way through the bearings outward...

    I'm sure you cleaned out the oil drain back port from outside the outer bearing, set the snap ring properly, and didn't cover it with a gasket, right?
