I wouldn't say the 240/300 were the best engine ever. Notorious for breaking ring lands from detonation. Takes some tweaking of vacuum advance to reduce tendency.

No, no. 240, 3 on the tree. 289 was not available in trucks then.. Only 240 and 352.
