Yeah I wish the rapid was faster,but for the money, the Genos M560 is an absolute beast of a mill, we have 3 of them, along with an older Okuma mill, and a Hyundai-Kia mill.

I used to run this exact same part on my Okuma...

I just watched a video on the DM-2. It's impressive. While it still isn't in Brother territory, it's pretty damn quick and not too far off.

Chip to chip at what RPM on the HAAS? Run at 15k,16k and then change tools, and spin back up to 16k rpm.
THEN count the seconds for chip to chip time.
The Brother can go from 0 to 16k and back to 0...

That is true, but who can predict what will happen 7 years from now?
If the OP buys the Brother, he might realize how fast it is and decide to change their mind and start doing production or running...

And my advice would be to not mix collet sizes. We only have ER25 on our smaller machines...

I think for newer customers we do that,but i'm not positive.
For our main customers though, we obviously don't/wouldn't do that, they're our bread and butter.

I've never understood why some people use the same rpm for all tap sizes. That's like using the same rpm when turning a 10" diameter piece of steel on a lathe down to 1/2"...

Your inserts are at different Z depths and you're feeding too fast.
If all of your inserts are sticking out EXACTLY the same amount, then your finish would be exponentially better by default.
