Great advice from a contractor

He’s not running a machine shop, but I think his message is very applicable. I once worked for an AS 9100 shop that literally did the exact opposite of everything he says; over promised, put out too many bids, way too far in the red on credit, CEO yelled at customers and vendors alike, etc.

I skimmed through but the gist lines up with the best advice I got starting out, basically don't compete on price, compete on quality, overestimate time and be a hero when you come in under, and keep good books. The first one still surprises me 25 years into it, there really are people who want to pay more for quality.
