No bitch but this: people are having to wait where before the virus they'd have been admitted and treated immediately.
Because my hospital wasn't overwhelmed, I didn't have to wait much longer but in other areas (see Alaska, Idaho, Montana?, perhaps others: emergency triage is happening: those with the best chance of survival get the bed and care, others get comfort care).
It's not supposed to be like this in the U.S.

Herb Kelleher and Wild Turkey. SWA used to hand out bottles of booze to passengers as a ticket "reward"--at one time it was said SWA was the largest liquor distributor in Texas.

Never met him but worked for some people (Texans) who knew him well and tried to follow in his footsteps...somewhat successfully. SWA no longer respects it's employees as the company did in the past. The coming months are going to be quite rough for commercial aviation and it's employees.

    Too bad.

    Maybe not-even that.

"Best" eval yet seen indicates it was the MANY months-long - if not year-plus, in the making - over-stretched, over-worked, and over-stressed labour resource pool finally hitting the wall?

What HAS to be at least as important, is what was the REAL story w/r FAA staffing, Jacksonville Center?

Anything needs a brighter light shined on it, that has to be high on the list.

NB: if truck drivers even in RUSSIA had the balls to defy Vlad the Impaler Stalputler over fuel & tax costs a few years back?

Count on a lot more coming than just this minor SW Air thingie as a portent of things to come in-the-time-of-cluster-f**k-Beijing-Joe-Buyed-in and the whiner-hater-blamer portable shitfest.

Stocking up on supplies & Diesel fuel... again..

We shall get through this, but it is gonna get a f**k of a lot messier before it even STARTS to get better.

Oh, yes! US (and Canada.. Oz... UK... EU.. and 'not only'.. ) have a MASSIVE body of politically indifferent "pragmatists"... who always knew.. deep-down.. that they have to solve their own problems at day's end.

    AS they/we do exactly that?

Many of those "jobs" will become permanent loss.

Sandalistas thot they had a hammerlock on "the economy?"

    Sorry.. No. They do not.

    Parasites don't run their hosts.

"The economy" shall simply slither right out from under their grasp and reconfigure itself to prevail.. regardless.

    As usual.

    Competent human thing.

Biased. Trained during my NORAD years - to be able do an austere, but effective, job subbing for NY Air Route Traffic Control. Before I earned my own wings. Or toured Washington Center (Leesburg, VA)

    Something weren't right.

But what SPECIFICALLY was it ... as caused Tucker Carlson to claim JAX wasn't even staffed?

That lad says "Good evening, welcome.." and the left are already all over hissazz.

    Instead?

    Sumthin' ain't right.

Can the MSM actually market the idea that astronauts are anti-science? No. They can’t market the idea that pilots are not anti-science either if they are quitting to avoid the jab, so we’ll never see the real reason for the problems at Southwest get published, EVER.
In reality, those pushing the covid con know anti-vaxxers are PRO SCIENCE, they are the only ones who know science well enough to be asking questions. You can bash an accountant, a truck driver, a welder, or any other category which by chance has people with a firm grip on the science, but you cannot get away with bashing pilots. So silence and stupidly worded questions is all we will get when it comes to explaining why Soutwest has so many delayed and canceled flights, the MSM won’t even touch the topic of pilot walk outs because if they do, they might be asked why. And “science” matters."

What does being a pilot have to doo with biology?
My guess is that the garbage man has a better handle on biology than a pilot.

Yep. So are all my extended family. All scientists, engineers or other STEM type quals.

Well, not vaccinated for rabies. Because, funny thing, there IS NO RABIES in Australia.

Because we run a tight quarantine system to keep it and similar things out to the best of our ability.

Still you guys believe and act as you choose. What you guys refusing to get vaccinated don't realise is, you're actually a self-selecting part of a giant scientific experiment.

    You're the control group.

And so far it's pretty clear that you're at 10X the risk of getting infected than a fully vaccinated person and the shit WRT hospitalisation, need for ICU facilities et al just flows from there. Lots of good data available now WRT relative risk. I know you guys don't want to believe it but that's the nice thing about data. It makes no difference whether you believe the numbers or not.

Anyway, back to the vaccine mandate. You've perfect freedom of choice here. If your employer says you have to get vaccinated, and this is accepted to be a legal requirement WRT health/safety, then you can get vaccinated or find a new job.

Can't see any loss of freedom there so what's the big deal?

Current US death rate ~1400 to 1800 a day, numbers a bit hard to pin down too closely. Maybe you'll crack a million dead by Christmas.

Wait, Covid is a real thing? 18 months ago a bunch of people here said it wasn't. Now they're saying vaccines are garbage. I'm so confused.

Took you 18 months to figure out you were confused?

    ONE guy?

NOW do you understand WHY - with over 7 BILLION souls on-planet AKA "a skin disease on a ball of dirt" - you ain't the only one with a 'confusion' challenge?

"The good news is.." dealing with confusion is what humans are best at.

If it was EASY, Artificial Idiots as answer the telephone .. sell inch-hoorance... or conduct White House Press briefings - could deal with it.

    Actually?

    They already are.

Is it permitted to s**t ourselves in fear now?

Or does that make us domesticated terror-asseds?

The name for the virus under discussion is SARS-Covid 19.

Not 1, not 2, no conspiracy theorists need apply on that count.
