I like the idea that this can use usb. I believe that would mean I don't need to have it hardwired to my main computer, correct?

I'm not the guy to provide you with technical support - you'd be better off to pick up the phone and talk to Pyramid or one of their distributors / retailers to get those kind of answers. I provided you contact info for the guy I bought from in a previous post.

If you don't believe me, ask your payroll prep service (ADP, perhaps?).

Wow, that almost looks like an entire workforce management system. I"m just looking for a nice punch clock. I'm doubting anything from Kronos is going to be in the 300 dollar range? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the suggestion, but I think that's a bit of overkill for a 3 man shop.

We use a Acroprint card swipe. Cards in a rack on the wall, real easy, networks so you print and save reports off your computer, you can add the relays for buzzers if you like. We are 25 employees and have no real issues other than a few worn out cards. I am sure there are many manufacturers of the same type system but I know it was fairly reasonable to buy. I guess someone could punch a fellow employee in or out but my crew would sniff them out faster than I could.

Where I am, we us a RFID key card with our own unique id number to access many areas in the plant (even the restrooms) and we have bio scanning (fingerprint) at the time clock and it is all Kronos operated. Worth it for security purposes but don't let another employee use your card, wow, JUST WOW.

I thought you were supposed to get a RFID chip implanted in your wrist so no double punching. Wonder what electric welding does to embedded chips?

For a couple of guys not needed, but I've now gone with a finger punch scan clock. There was a lot of concern about dirt etc messing up the optics but so far its worked well. Eliminates the so called buddy punches. We ended up with lots of guys leaving their cards in the plant, the claim was so they didn't forget them etc and then you never know what shenanigans are going on. Biometrics stops that.....of course everyone is honest beyond repute, but why not remove temptation?

edit...ok duped into a zombie thread, Dave's likely figured it out by now

I realize this is an 8 year old thread but it's relevant for me as I'm in the market for a time clock. I do my own payroll and manually add up the hours from each time card. It's archaic. Any specific recommendations is appreciated!.
