I'm looking to move my machining operations into a new building (in a different state) from my electronics operations. I'll be there two or three days per week most weeks, but I will want a shop manager to run the day to day. New shop will be Pittsburgh area.
It'll be a captive shop, so no quoting or responding to RFQs. Heavily automated, so there will be lines (auto saw to conveyor to robot to machine to inline tumble to brush deburr to automated packaging) rather than with people loading/carrying/setting up. I imagine two real machinists who can program, set up, troubleshoot and repair (one of whom would be the manager) plus maybe three operators, plus someone doing shipping and receiving, plus someone doing cleaning, filling oil and coolant and other similar PMs. Most paperwork, purchasing and the like will be handled from our home base here.
I'm thinking the guy I want is probably about $75k a year salaried, but would be happy to hear other opinions. They need to be an effective manager, not just an effective metal mover.
