Removing the Collet Closure

I'm trying to remove the collet closer from an HLV-H and having some problems. I'm new to HLV's in general and I don't know the last time the link pin was pulled out, but I just can't seem to remove the pin. Does it pull straight up? No twisting? I sprayed some WD-40 in case it had seized, but that didn't help. Any suggestions would be great.

It just lifts right out, Kory. Probably some gunk or rust in the bore. Just tap the bottom with a plastic hammer and it should pop out.

Thanks Mike! Tapping the bottom with a hammer did the trick. I've very nervous about using a hammer on a machine like this.

The manual states to lubricate it with light oil. What do you use? I have some of the recommended spindle oil. Will that do?
