What are the best light bulbs to use in a Taylor Hobson 142/44 Inclinometer? I have been using GE 502's, but they burn out in about 3 hours of use (the one that illuminates the bubble). The bulb that illuminates the scale lasts a very long time.

Hi Forrest, thanks for the suggestion. I have thought about it. I used the same solution for my Leitz autocollimator. I bought some LEDS that were designed to screw onto Schrader valves (for car wheels), that take an AAA battery, and just turned the OD to fit. However, in that case the orig. light was missing, but I have all the TH inclinometer bits and pieces.

After thinking about it some more, I think the simplest solution would be to run both bulbs from the same power supply, the one that doesn't burn the bulbs out.
