Questions on PC DMIS NC and Probe Speed

Is anybody using PC DMIS NC for inspection in the machine tool. We are interested in replacing our Renishaw Inspection Plus software. It looks rather impressive, but I have a few concerns.

1. How does it compare to Renishaw Inspection Plus software in terms of capability and ease of use?

2. Will it work on Fanuc ans Seimens controlled machines?

3. I am used to inspecting on a CMM where the probe touches just once per target and moves rather quickly. On our machine tools, the probe currently touches twice per target with the second touch being quite slow. Can you probe on the machine with just one touch and have it be accurate?

4. Are there different probes that work better than standard machine tool probes for this type of inspection?

Check with Marposs. They have inspection program that looks like it will do what you want to do.
