Little bit strange as it has the complete gearbox and threading - most of the manufacturing lathes had the limited speed gearbox and no leadscrew for threading.
I don't think it is as it has the mesh on the end panels more typical of the tube drive as well as the fan for the tube drive. He may have been judging from the "Motor Start" on the on the buttons below the headstock they Monarch recycled that into the Field On/Off panel - my '56 has the same buttons with the tube drive.
But we won't know until the seller says it's M/G or tube drive.
I still want one of those accumulator cross slide dials.
