A Jarno 14 is 1.750 on big end and 1.400 on small end
The nose of the EE only engages a short section of the taper so it is not using anywhere near the full length of a Jarno 12. That said I think you could cut down a J14 and about the first 3" would engage MOST of the ground area in the nose - Just did the math and looks like you will only get 2" of engagement on the end of the J14, I think a J13 would probably work better. I picked up a J14 dead center and figure on doing something similar, possibly cutting it down to make a couple pieces and/or just using it to set the taper to cut my own.
