9B Compound Rest Needed

After 10 years I was finally able to get my father's South Bend 9B back from my brother-in-law. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he took very good care of it.

Does anyone have a compound rest top available? The particulars are;

South Bend 9B
Serial # 157801, 1946/1947
The original rest has C101 stamped on it.

Thanks,
Rick

that compound is usable. The tool post is supported at the center of the T slot. Should work fine. just hard to look at.

Thanks for the reply. It's hard to pick up in my awful pics... but the crack in pic 2 goes to about the middle of the rest.

I did just find a replacement. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it's almost a perfect match.

If the new one doesnt fit, I have a complete lathe sans the tail stock for parts. Let me know if you or anyone here needs parts before it leaves for the chinamans kiln. It has a fairly complete non quick-change headstock. Will trade the machine for a steady rest also... Bill in TR, Wi.

Is the backgear any good? Mine has teeth broken on both the big end and the little end. Could use the chuck too.
