The lathe I picked up last month has a broken wheel assembly. The handwheel is intact but it's missing the taper pin and until I start disassembling it, I'm not sure what part I need.

Looking at the parts list from form 902C from 6-15-57, I'm guessing I either need PT204NK2 (part of the AS76NK1 assembly)or AS228NK2. Interestingly enough, Grizzly's South Bend parts store has the AS76NK1 in stock for $149.00 although eBay appears cheaper at least for this item.

Are there any other sources that might have this part that I am overlooking?

Thanks,

isnt that for the whole handwheel? those are assembly numbers, meaning more than one part,,in that case the wheel casting with the little handle pressed in.

you can buy taper pins at most ace hardware srores.

Unless I'm misreading the exploded parts diagram, the assembly includes the gear and the shaft. The shaft has its own part number but was only sold with the full assembly. I assume it was held in place to the wheel with the taper pin.

Yeah, post up the approximate dimensions of the taper pin you need and PM me your address and I'll send you one if I have one.
