AR15 Chamber Live Center Size ?

I need to purchase a live center with a MT2 to put in my tail stock that will go pass the barrel lugs of an AR15 to reach the barrel bore/chamber. With all the choices and different size points I don't know what to order.
Would someone advise me please?

I agree with using the gunsmithing forum but until this is moved...

Here are a couple of options that may work but you'll have to get specific measurements for the clearances you'll need as well as accurate dimensions for the centers.

I have a live center with interchangeable points like the second one shown above. I have used it to turn an AR15 barrel between centers to thread the muzzle for a flash hider. I don't remember which point I used but at least one of them worked. They make brass points that fit over the point on the center to protect the rifling or the chamber or you can make your own. However, I don't believe they are really needed.

If you get one of the interchangeable point live centers,you can make a point to fit your needs. That's the advantage of having a lathe.

I'd turn up a slug that resembles a 5.56mm casing and use that. It won't harm your chamber and it allows you to use a standard center.
