Making progress with the lathe. Got my three gallons of Mobil lubricants yesterday and started filling and lubricating it. The lathe looks unused, but sat for a very long time.

Should I be able to pull the bull gear pin out easily? Doesn't budge. Does it twist or lock in any way? Rotating the pulleys spins the shaft, so I assume the pin is in.

Thanks,
Rich

Hi There,

The Bull Gear Pin just pulls straight out. Twisting it won't hurt anything though and may help to free it up.

Does the three stepped pulley rotate independently of the spindle? Try holding the Bull Gear and rotating the three stepped pulley. If you can, the pin is already pulled out.

Make sure that the belt tension is off (slack). Belt tension can put pressure on the pin; making it difficult to pull out.

I hope this help. Good Luck!
