I would like to get the lathe up and running, can anyone recommend a vfd or phase converter? It will be the only piece I need to run. It has a 2hp, 200v, 60htz 3 phase motor. I'm looking for something simple and reliable.

Thanks Gary

I can highly recommend an American Rotary phase converter. The AR-15 does all I need in my little garage shop.

Kind of a buy once, cry once thing.

Before my rotary I had several Teco L510's that always did their job.

My BP and 13" SB plugged right into my Ronk RPC. Plan was to drop VFD's in both to get 100% variable speed, but hasn't happened yet (and I have the VFD's!).

At vacation house, no RPC so run my small Diamond 22M horizontal with VFD, and a Rusnok Model 70 with a 190 VDC Leeson motor and speed control (240VAC input to controller), i.e., I used what I had.

Are you quite sure about the 200 volts? That would be pretty strange. As best I can determine, you get what you put in, or with 120v VFD's double what you put in back out. If 200, I'd be a bit concerned about over-voltage on the motor.
