are collet draw bars interchangeable between heavy 10's with different spindle sizes

The heavy 10 (5C) drawbar will not even go into a 1-7/8-8 spindle bore. IIRC a 5C drawbar is "about" 1-3/8 inch OD. The spindle bore on a 1-7/8-8 spindle is "about" 1-1/16 inch ID. So you couldn't even get the drawbar inside your spindle.

Tape measure through could tell length needed. Yes one could add spacers if a little long but being short a bigger problem..

You probably will be limited to 3C collets, which go up to 1/2.

The collet attachment for the small spindle takes #2 collets(2a)..7/8" max IIRC
