Hey Ted, are these "genie" SB parts or what is the story here? I was not aware that SB had made half-nuts entirely in bronze...I do remember Jayhawkman offering some bronzed/refurbished halfnuts that were originally SB cast iron. Just curious about these is all.

These are genuine South Bend Lathe parts N.O.S.
 
Bronze was an option on the print, but cast iron was more cost effective.
South Bend made a few upgrades to the machines used “in-house”. One of them was bronze half-nuts in some special machines like the crossfeed screw machine that Steve Wells now owns. The half-nuts in this picture are from one of those machines(bronze and about twice as long). The one on the left is a standard 10” for comparison.
