It's been a while since my last post. I could really use your guys help. I've purchased another South bend. This one is a Heavy 10 version. 48" bed, hardened, D1-4, original paint and really doesn't look like it's been used a ton. Didn't come with a steady or a taper attachment but does include a collet closer and a couple Chuck's. Paid $1800 for it. Been looking for a smaller lathe for a while and know how much some of these heavy 10s can cost. I'm having a hard time dating this thing. It's got the black tags instead of the reddish and gold version. Ser# is 21325R and Model# is CL0187RB, also I'm not 100% sure this thing came with a D1-4 spindle according to the model number. Attached are a few pics, thanks for any input.

Offer to buy her a drink and maybe she'll date you. LOL

Try googling South Bend Lathe serial numbers or something like that. I was able to date the South Bend 13" lathe that I sold last ear to 1944.

The price sounds pretty fair for what you got provided it's in good shape as far as the ways go.

P.S. No pictures showing up.
