Does anyone sell Dial Indicator Clamps for SB Heavy 10 - 10L?

Was looking to buy a Dial Indicator Clamp Mount for my 10L lathe. I found one for SB 9 and 10K lathes, but so far (with the exception of a 3P Plastic Printed version) I have not found one of this design for a 10L lathe. Would prefer a Metal clamp.

Would the 9/10K version fit a 10L, or could that version be modified to fit easily? Unfortunately, I currently don’t have access to a working milling machine.

Does anyone manufacture a clamp of similar design specifically for the 10L?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply and links.

I have seen the 3D printed version, but would prefer a metal clamp.

I also found the one on EBay for 9/10K lathes. Did not know that he also made/sold one for 10L lathes even if out of stock.

Since my original post, I sent a “Contact Seller” message asking if he had a 10L version or if the 9/10K one could be modified to work.

Edge Technologies also makes one, but it looks to be a scissor clamp, which would likely work, but I would still prefer the cleaner looking clamp discussed earlier.

What dimensions keep the 9/10K version from fittings 10L?

Appreciate the replies.

The Mini Magnetic base can get me by for a while, but I agree, I really want a more secure clamp.

Maybe someday, a DRO, but a Clamp for a Dial Indicator would work best until.

Thanks.

How different are the bed edge dimensions, SB 9/10K vs 10L?

You just make your own:

That is actually set up on a 10L in the photos

Thanks. Looks good.

I may consider making my own though it would be easier done with access to a working mill.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone knows how to hacksaw and file anymore?

Not a slam on the OP, but you can do it quite precisely if you know what you are doing.

Hacksaws get a bad rap.:(

I bought the one sold on EBay for the Southbend 9 and 10K lathe.

The V-to-Bed bottom height dimension is about 0.100 taller on the 10L vs 10K, so the hinged clamp plate rests at a slight angle... and the machined-Flat on the 10L carriage is 3/8 inch farther out (see before photo below) so I mounted the dial indicator out 3/8 inch farther using a Bushing and longer socket cap screw.

It works.

Thanks.

Yes, I have seen that too. There are a few good YouTube videos on how to make one from a cheap Harbor Freight digital vernier. I may well try that in the future, but for now, just wanted something ready-made.
