How to take off the Belt on a 13" SB?

Hi,
I just picked up a 13" SB Turret. Trying to take it apart when I noticed the belt doesn't come off. The belt is in new condition is there a way of taking it off without destroying it?

Assuming it is a glued belt, you have to cut it.

Guess it won't be good any more. LOL On my other lathe I was able to stitch it.

you can lace it if you have a lacer. just don't cut it where it is glued.

TY Bob,
This belt is not like the belt I have on my other lathe. That belt was about 1/4" thick. I used the method in the SB book on keeping your lathe in trim. This belt is much thinner.

I make my belts out of old conveyer belts I got from where I worked. I have one on a 9" for the last 5 years. nice thing about belts is if you get in trouble the belt jumps off and you don't damage the machine.
