I purchased a 9" South Bend which included two "extra" gears. They do NOT fit on this lathe. I'm hoping someone can identify which machine these belong on.

The large gear:
5.5" dia.
64 teeth, 3/4" wide
3/4" bore with 1/8" keyway

Small gear:
2.320 dia.
26 teeth, 5/8" wide
5/8" bore

I also got a 7" faceplate that doesn't fit this lathe. It has a 1 3/8 - 8tpi thread. Is there a South Bend lathe that has this thread or should I just bore it out a little and rethread to 1 1/2 - 8?

Real question is do you have a faceplate to bolt it to to do the job.Once you have it trued up on a faceplate you can remove it by unscrewing that plate and checking the fit on your spindle. Cast iron threads beautifully.

I don't want to turn it into a common 1 1/2 x 8 if someone is looking for a rare, hard to find, 1 3/8 x 8.
