I may have found a heavy 10 and with you guys help the seller has found the serial number...
A link was added to my other post on serialzation and I looked it up and if I read it right it was made in 1945
I would like to make sure I had read it correctly and have a few questions along the way...
Serial number reads 167054 and is followed by L.Q.R which appear to be stamped in the same line as serial number...it appears the letters are hand stamped...
Then underneath the serial number towards the V there is J.F.P. hand stamped in the material...
Any idea what this identifies?

Now when I go to the chart and start trying to get more information there are more questions I don’t understand...
UMD
FFA
QCG. Quick Change Gears?
It’s a 187 R and seems to be a 10L with a 4.5 bed
Any help on understanding this info would be helpful...
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
You are correct, it's a 1945 Heavy Ten(10L)
The stamps by the serial number are WWII inspector stamps, either civilian appointed or military appointed.
These were stamped at final inspection as acceptance of filled orders and "meets" War Board Requirements.
Additional stamps such as Navy anchors or flaming bomb's could also IDshipping to branch or an arsenal.

The database headers way up at the top right show:
Drive Configuration: UMD(Underneath Motor Drive)
Apron Configuration: FFA(Friction Feed Apron)
Gear Configuration: QCG(Quick Change Gear)

I looked at another 10L today with another serial number...

1210RKL8
It appears its a 1948
R=
Heavy 10 inch (10R or 10L)
K=
Quick Change Gear (QCG), Friction Feed Apron,
Underneath Motor Drive (UMD)
L=
Large Spindle Hole,
Standard Swing

However I cant find anything of the 8
Thanks
Paul
