Hi all,
first post of what i predict will be a bunch. Purchased a 1937 9c from an estate with quite a bit of tooling and in good shape. Fired it up before i bought and it ran forward and reverse. Took it home, clean her up (looks pretty decent for a 80 year old lathe.)
anyhow, to the point- motor winding's are pooched, so i bought new Dayton motor. A 6k122bg tefc 1/2 hp. I have the original or close to it furnas type r1 drum switch mounted on front of bed, and i would like to wire it up. Hopefully i did not jump the gun with this motor, got a great deal. other than making a customized junction box to fit under belt i think it should be fine.
The Dayton is a dual voltage cap start reversible motor, but has 7 wires and no identification on them just colors, no numbers, nothing.
Can anyone out there draw this out for me? also i am guessing i should run a ground from green screw on motor body to any screw(external cover screw, back plate,or the like)?
on switch.
thanks in advance, any input appreciated.
asshat
