Lever collet closer restoration question

In the middle of refurbing a newer style lever for my 9".

I have everything disassembled and cleaned up.

For assembly, what lubrication should i use inside where the ball bearings are? Grease or oil?
What thickness felt do i need between the bronze bushings?

I don't have a 9", but my knee jerk thought would be to use grease on ball bearings. Assuming that the felt you're asking about does not lube them.

For felt, I'd measure the slot they push into, I'd want it that size or just a c hair bigger to wipe the mating other part.

I used grease on mine for the BB. The felt as stated above works. Then I rebuilt my hand wheel closer adding a thrust bearing And now I don’t use the lever closer any more.......
