Nuked 10k Idler gear and bushing...

I've been slowly tearing down a lightly used 10k. Everything has been caked in ancient oil/grease which has turned into varnish. I was pleased, because although difficult to remove it is better than the alternative (rust). The only damaged parts on this lathe are the idler gear and bushing. Looks like it was starved for oil and started to gall.

Grizzly is out of stock, a new one on Ebay is $110, so I'm thinking I'll repair it.

My current plan is to ream the idler until I get through the galling, and build up the bushing up with Silicon Bronze. Then turn the bushing until there is a couple thousandths clearance.

Anyone run into this before, or have any advice?
