As I am waiting for my "A Guide to Renovating the South Bend Lathe" to arrive, I started stripping paint and painting components not affected by the rebuild. The stripper that I am using seems to only take one layer at a time so I found this yellow / gold paint on the letters eventually. Is that how the factory painted the letters in the cast parts? I like it and intend to do the same. Its a 1953 10R

I wonder if anyone can post a picture of the actual colour, I think it looks good against the grey. The 9 J catalog has a colour cover and shows the yellow letters. Just wondering if its more yellow or gold looking?
