Original Paint Color for 9" Junior?

Trying to determine the original paint color of my 9" Junior serial# 53652. Thinking this machine is either 1933 or 34.

It's currently silver and was well stripped prior to the current repaint....so no witness or original paint remains. Thinking black or dark green? Thanks in advance for any reply's. tim

Have seen examples in grey,black,red, all of which appeared to be original.

Hi Tim, having spent time in the Navy gave me an aversion to grays and greens, I would pick a color or shade that you like the look of and have at it. Machines are for using, not admiring, although I certainly see some examples as works of art. (I mean no offence,just my opinion) Jim

Smile, yeah it's OD green for me. I love the gloss black antique look and was wondering if maybe it would also be a correct restoration color for my lathe.

The black look with polished handwheels and fasteners is really good looking. search for "japanned finish" Hope you will post some before and after pic's. (I don't mind OD,I was in the Seabees...)

My 1931 Junior was ordered gray from South Bend by the Philadelphia vocational school that purchased it.
