I have found a 16" South Bend lathe at a junk yard in Corsicana, Texas. R&S Recycling. I think their number is 903-872-5845. just ask for Michael. The bed looks good with surface rust on it but under the Carriage its good. It has a Turret tailstock on it so I don't think it's done much threading. It has no end cover but the gearing looks good with no bad teeth. I think this lathe could be cleaned up and used as is and if you could find a good tailstock for it be a really good addition to any shop.

I personally have a carriage stop I believe is for a 16" SBL that I got off ebay years ago. It won't fit my Heavy 10. It does have some damage at the oil plug on it but can be used like it is or fixed. If anyone wants it just make me a reasonable offer.

Good luck on the lathe. I hate the thought of seeing an iconic lathe end up being smashed and sold for junk. It has lots of good parts in it.
