To start, sorry for any dumb or redundant questions.

I’ve tried the search function with the info I have with no result.

What I know. It’s a South Bend 11”x4’. Owner listed it as a 1930. It has the overhead motor mount. Catalog number 3884-a, 48192 on the bed. It also has a government tag on it if that matters that reads D.p.c. 61-21 s.c.m.

The lathe doesn’t have a chuck or motor so I was trying find specs to figure what it’s going to cost me to get it up and running.

Thanks!

Definitely 3884. Found vague info that it’s an O series, but I don’t know what that means either. Thanks for the info!

Now to decide this or a LeBlonde Regal.

Depending on whether or not its an old roundhead or a square head the top rpm might be a drawback to the Regal. Many were only 500 rpm.

Good lathes, though. I've had a dozen over the years. Very capable and smooth, just slow.

Is a leblond for sell in your area.? Lots of high schools had Leblond lathes, a high school here had some that were sold off
but I do not know where they went, anyway if you find one they are a nice lathe.
