Question about another bearing issue...

Hello

I just bought a clone of the SB 9 called Åsbrink and made in Sweden during the 40s and 50s. I have no clue about these plain bronze bearings and there are some ridges in both spindel and bearing and wondered if I should do anything about it? Is it to bad? Were also surprised when I saw there were no shims.

Here are some photos. I can feel the ridges when I ran my nail over

Yes I am quite certain of the years it was made. Found adverts from the 1940s.
Same as Boxford in England and (Hercu?) in Australia. Also Blomquist and Storebro is two other swedish company's that made clone of the SB 9 series.

Though mine has no felt in the bearings like I have seen on South Bends. Just a hole from the oilcup into a small grove. Also mine did not have any shims. That I was very surprised to find.

do those oil fill cups have some felt inserts to meter the oil? If not unless you oil them every few minutes those bearings will be running dry more often than not. That would be a good place for a pair of drip oilers.
