I searched and found the answer to my question about the rear saddle gib plate; it was answered by Paula.
She said the split ring washers under the bolts are used to provide tension between the
plate and rear machined surface. Of course, I was missing the spring washers(!) and was wondering how
in the world does one set that plate correctly....now I know!
Anyone have a different method? I'm thinking a jam nut would at least keep the bolts from backing out.
Thanks.
