Recently I noticed that the bull gear plunger would randomly disengage on my SB 9A.

Closer inspection showed that the retaining spring that engages the detente groove in the plunger had broken.

Are replacements available?

It seems it would be pretty easy to make a replacement. Can anyone recommend a suitable material? Music wire, possibly?

The spring should provide friction so that it does not engage.

If it is disengaging under load then adjust the stop so that it doesnt.

I have them. What else do you need?
