For sale: 10” & 13” micrometer carriage stops

I have two late model mic stops that are N.O.S., but there were a few parts missing. I replaced those parts and now they are complete. These are the type that can be mounted horizontally or vertically (with the bed bracket).
One is set up for the 10” and the other for the 13”. The only difference is the clamp.
I have 2 bed brackets, one N.O.S., and one used(the far hole has stripped threads). The bed bracket is included in the price of the mic stops, the first to order gets the new bracket.
$250 plus $9 shipping.

I also have a used mic stop of a little older vintage. It is a little shorter and was not designed for vertical use. In the picture it has the 10” clamp. I can supply either the 10 or the 13.

I have never seen a bed bracket, and I can't say that I understand how it is used. But now I know why there are two small tapped holes in the side of my bed, right above the gearbox.

Vertical orientation on the bed bracket is used when working close to the spindle with stock held in collets. Because of interference with the gearbox you can’t move the bed clamp back far enough to work up close to a collet.

Ben

On the older machines with the Flather gearbox you have to take off the tray on the top of the gearbox to get some positions with the bracket. Allows mic stop work up close in those old 2As.

Ted I have a 1200 RT 3 stop and a 1212 R1 bracket. The lathe is a small bore 13 that uses the 2A collets and the stop works fine with the bracket. Several people on the forum have told me that there are or were separate micrometer stops for the 10 and 13 inch machines. Have always been curious about that?

I just dragged a South Bend 13 metric home.

Picture from sellers shop. That's not all my junk.
My junk is in my garage. Now with this lathe added to it!

Are you saying you have
metric graduated carriage stops and an adapter/ bracket that fits my lathe in those two holes at about 2:00 above the gearbox on the side of the ways?

I might be interested if they are still available.

I see three stops in the pictures but they all look alike to me.
What is the difference?
Thanks.

Yes, I have a metric micrometer carriage stop, with the bed bracket for the 13” (still available)
The 13” stop uses a different clamp than the 10L, otherwise they are the same.

I also have some other parts for the metric 13”...crossfeed and compound screws and nuts
Awaiting your email...
