Serial Number Question

Greetings all,
My lathe's serial number, that is stamped on the ways, reads like this: "LT 106 R 5614RKL 11".
What does the "11" mean?
Also, what is the "LT 106 R"?

I have been through the serial number information and understand that my lathe's serial number is from the post 1947 system and that my lathe is likely a 1953. Also that it is the 5614th lathe produced in the new numbering system. R=Heavy 10" (10R or 10L), K=Quick Change Gears (QCG), Friction Feed Apron, Underneath Motor Drive, (UMD), L=Large Spindle Hole, Standard Swing.

Thank You
R, Steve

The trailing “11” should be the eleventh design revision of the top level assembly drawing.

Not sure what that prefix is, haven’t seen that before. May have been added by the original purchaser? Is it all in the same stamp typeface?

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the response. The type faces are very similar and look like they were stamped at the factory. I need to figure out how to post a pic.
R, Steve
