South Bend 9A Lathe detent

I am repainting and putting new felt in my South Bend 9A lathe and when I got it reassembled I had one extra detent that I do not know where it is supposed to go. Can anyone tell from the picture where this detent is supposed to go? Any help would greatly be appreciated s I can complete my rebuild.

It goes in the crossfeed nut (Lock)
