I own a 1945 9A and am in the process of refurbishing the cross feed. I removed the old screw and nut and was going to install another screw in better shape and a new nut but I have a problem. I can't seem to get the screw started in either of the 2 new nuts I have. Also, I can't seem to get the old screw started in the old nut. What am I doing wrong? Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a trick to getting it started?
