Rebuilt this 9A undermount drive model, and have started using it. On the gearbox input shaft there are 2 gears. This is how mine came when I bought it, so I reassembled it that way. Now, I'm wondering if this is the correct gear to give the threading and feed speeds on the gearbox plate?

If it were swapped out for the smaller gear is there a conversion? (I assume these two gears can just be switched...)

Did a search and for some reason not seeing the answer....

yes, you have it right.
the smaller gear is a 40T and may be swapped in place of the 20T gear on the reverser to get the course range of threads(less than 8TPI)

Looks like a nice 9":)

Ah, so the small one swaps with the gear visible right at the top of the photo, not with the input shaft gear behind it on the gearbox. I would have never known that, thanks!

I spent about 6 months picking at it an hour or two here and there, finally done! Still want to add a VFD at some point....
