I have a very old SB lathe that had teeth damaged on the gears that drive the apron. After buying a catalog (or whatever it is called) from Grizzly, I discovered they don't have the parts. (Wonder why I bought it....)
Anywho, these gears are attached, as in the picture. They ride on a shaft affixed to an arm. On the back of the arm there is a nut on the shaft - that comes off easy enough. But now I can't tell if the shaft is threaded into the arm or what. Additionally, there is an off-center hole in the end of the shaft (gear side) that I believe might be like a fixture to accept a spanner-type wrench... I don't mind gently warming it up but I'd rather know more about it before I attempt things (and possibly hurt it).
