Default Steve Brooks - rebuild kit?

I recently purchased a 405-y and need a rebuild kit, I checked Steve's ebay and amazon listings but the resto kits are for the later a,b,c models> are they back compatible?
also would installing oilers on the headstock be advisable or stick strictly to the old wick system?

what is there on a 405 that could benefit?

If it's a top oiler headstock you can't change it, well, I guess you *could* but what would be the point?

reservoir of spindle oil that's readily applied over time and visible if it needs refill. kinda the whole point of an oiler no? but hey my ignorance knows no bounds...lol this a bad idea? if so why? also Steve are you out there?

The kits are fantastic for the models they apply to but not for a 405.

It would take substantial machine work to add side oilers to a top oiler headstock.
