Which taper?

Hi all. I'm looking to acquire a live center for the tailstock on my SB9. Trying to make sure I get one with the right taper.

Measuring what I have, it looks like a number 2. Does that sound right for this machine?

Yes, #2 Morse taper. Be aware though that some "storebought" items with a #2 Morse taper may not seat in the quill far enough to be ejected as you back the quill back into the tailsock. That can be fixed by either extending the threaded screw in the tailstock or by extending the tapered shank on the center. Usually 1/8" to 3/16" is enough to get the job done. Worse comes to worse you can always extend the quill all the way out and pull it out of the tailstock and then tap the center out with a piece of brass rod.
